The server infrastructure of World of Warcraft continues to present unpleasant surprises for players at times.
It recently became known that Blizzard Entertainmentfiled a lawsuit against Turtle WoW - the developers of fan servers.
A few days later, the official version of WoW started experiencing problems. Reports began to surface that there were disruptions in access to WoW game worlds in Europe. It appears that this only affected a portion of the community.
While Blizzard was working to restore the operation of WoW servers, some began to formulate theories, for example, BlackMushrooms stated:
"I found my tinfoil hat. Is it possible that the servers have been running slowly [glitching] for the last few days because the Turtle team was annoyed by the lawsuit and [responded] with a DDoS attack on Blizzard servers?"
Not everyone shares this opinion, as it is assumed that significant resources would be required to breach the defenses of Blizzard / Microsoft servers.
However, discussion participant Quiet_Warthog5088 recalled that there was a case when "a bunch of randoms"organized a DDoS attack on Blizzard - many hardcore characters in WoW Classic died then.
