Intel has introduced the first update of 2025 for the APO (Application Optimization) performance optimization system. It includes 15 new games, and owners of current processors can expect an FPS increase of up to 14%, depending on the title.
List of projects that have received optimizations:
- Metro Exodus: Enhanced Edition
- God of War
- Kerbal Space Program 2
- Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
- The Callisto Protocol
- Wolfenstein: Youngblood
- Cities: Skylines
- Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
- Dyson Sphere Program
- EA Sports FC 24
- 7 Days to Die
- World of Warships
- Assetto Corsa
- Delta Force: Hawk Ops
- Shushan: The First Chapter
According to Intel, the performance increase varies from 3 to 14% depending on the game. Metro Exodus showed the greatest result (up to +14%), while Cities: Skylines, Dyson Sphere Program, and The Callisto Protocol added from 4 to 11%.
To activate APO, you need to install the Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology (DTT) utility from the motherboard manufacturer's website. After that, the function is enabled automatically. Through the proprietary application from the Microsoft Store, you can manually configure APO profiles for individual games.
There is also an "advanced mode" for owners of older processors, starting with the 12th generation (Alder Lake). It allows you to manually activate support for unsupported games. However, Intel warns that such profiles do not undergo official validation, and both an increase and a decrease in FPS are possible.
The APO function continues to evolve: Intel plans to expand support as new games and processors are released. With the application installed, new profiles will be added automatically. The main focus is on current and future generations of CPUs, but devices based on older chips may also receive updates when the APO team has enough resources to implement them.
