The announcement of a new part took place at Nintendo Direct — Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots. The surprise was twofold: the franchise is returning after 8 years, the development is being carried out not by PlayStation Studios, but by Bandai Namco, and the premiere was held at the Nintendo presentation, and not at State of Play. Now you can evaluate the result of the work of the HYDE studio, the authors of Digimon Survive. The result was far from ideal. Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots received the lowest average scores in the history of the series (not counting spin-offs like Everybody’s Tennis). 72% is noticeably lower than the franchise standards. Weak interest is also confirmed by the numbers: the PC release gathered only 2241 players.
On the one hand, the indicator is not bad for a niche, long-forgotten brand. But Bandai Namco and Sony were clearly counting on more.
