Emma Myers Wants to Play Max from Life is Strange, and Fans Approve
Life is Strange is being adapted into a TV series, and fans have already started speculating about potential casting choices.
While Amazon is preparing a series based on Life is Strange, fans of the original game have been doing what they do best — discussing casting. The focus has been on the main character, Max Caulfield. Judging by social media, most fans would like to see actress Emma Myers, star of the series "Wednesday," where she played Enid, in this role.
The reasons for this choice are quite specific. Myers not only looks like Max, but she herself has admitted that she has long dreamed of such a role. In a recent interview with Seventeen magazine, she openly stated that she would like to play the heroine of Life is Strange, calling the game one of her favorites. "I've heard rumors that they're doing an adaptation. I don't know if it's true, but it would be very cool," she said just a month before the official announcement of the show. Myers also mentioned that she would like to play Edith in a possible adaptation of What Remains of Edith Finch, although no such plans have been announced by anyone yet.
After this quote, debates erupted on social media about who would be the best fit for the role of Max. One user on X suggested a list of candidates, including Sophia Lillis ("It"), Cailee Spaeny ("Alien: Romulus") and, of course, Myers herself. The latter clearly leads in the number of mentions: in the comments, she is called the "only right choice" and a "100 percent hit."
Charlie Covell, the author of the dark teen drama "The End of the F***ing World," is the writer and showrunner of the project. The plot of the adaptation will once again focus on Max, her ability to rewind time, and her difficult friendship with Chloe Price.
Who exactly will play the main character is still unknown. The series does not yet have a release date, and no official statements regarding casting have been made.
