NateTheHate reported on social media that Square Enix is planning to release Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Xbox Series S|X and Nintendo Switch 2. On Switch 2, the game will supposedly use DLSS technology. Xbox owners will be able to play as early as next year. The Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade version will be released on Switch 2 in winter 2025, with the exact date to be announced at the next Nintendo Direct.
As for Silent Hill 2 Remake, the insider noted that announcements for other platforms are only possible after the end of the Sony exclusive. "Any announcements cannot be made until the exclusive agreement with Sony expires in October," Nate stated. The Bloober Team and Konami game was released on PS5 and PC in October 2024. A Switch 2 version is still in question due to the peculiarities of Unreal Engine 5, while an Xbox release looks more likely.
