Trail Out is often called the unofficial FlatOut 5. It is much closer in atmosphere and gameplay to the original Bugbear Entertainment series than their current Wreckfest.
Three years after the full version release, the project is still in the spotlight, and the Good Boys studio has released update 5.0, transporting players to the Japanese metropolis of Tokyo.
The update, called Tokyo Breach, adds:
· Two huge new city tracks in Tokyo;
· A new race track at Frau Uber: German autobahn with traffic;
· The Dusty Darkness map has been reworked — a deadly "Tornado" event has been added;
· New cars: Venom V10 and Beast MS;
· A new truck: Ace Truck with shooting mode (unlocked by winning the Joker roulette);
· New hero skins: Good Driver, Boomer, and Knight;
· Larger-scale destruction: dam collapse, satellite dish falling, giant donut, and more;
· Visual improvements and fixes on many tracks.
All this content is available on Steam and Xbox Series X|S. Trail Out has not yet appeared on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, but the developers hint that this is only a matter of time.
A teaser for Trail Out 2 has also appeared – release in 2028.
