Mobile FFVII Ever Crisis turns two years old. Square Enix celebrates the anniversary with a series of high-profile crossovers.
Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis celebrated its second anniversary with three major announcements - an in-game event based on the animated film "Advent Children", a crossover with Final Fantasy XIII, and an upcoming event dedicated to the NieR franchise.
First on the schedule is the event for "Advent Children", which has already started. Players can expect themed gear, skins for Cloud, Tifa, Yuffie, and young Sephiroth, as well as a unique item, the "Second Anniversary Memoria", which unlocks a special ability. In addition, a playable adult Sephiroth in his classic version has debuted in the game. The collaboration events will last until October 22.
Following that, in November, there will be a collaboration with Final Fantasy XIII. As part of the event, Tifa and Aerith will receive Lightning costumes - with the same appearance but different characteristics. According to Tetsuya Nomura, there was a long debate within the team about which of the heroines to give this look to, and in the end, they decided not to choose at all. Lightning herself will also appear in the game - as a boss. A new mechanic, "enemy techniques", is associated with her: by defeating certain opponents, players will be able to obtain their techniques in the form of special skills, activated through a separate gauge.
Finally, a large-scale crossover with NieR is expected in December. According to Famitsu, the event will cover the entire series - from the original Drakengard universe to Automata and Replicant. Players will be able to obtain costumes for 2B and Kainé - Tifa and Aerith will try them on, respectively. Other details have not yet been revealed.
