Intel appears to be finalizing preparations for the launch of its new flagship Arc Battlemage series video card. Data has emerged online regarding the shipment of BMG-G31 graphics chips, which are believed to form the basis of the Arc B770 - the most powerful model in the lineup to date.
The documents are dated June 11, 2025, and mention large packages with dimensions similar to those in which chips for the Arc B580 were previously shipped. Back then, about two and a half months passed between the appearance of such documents and the release - which allows us to expect the debut of the B770 in the fourth quarter.
According to preliminary information, the Arc B770 will be based on 32 Xe2 cores and will receive 16 GB of GDDR6 video memory operating on a 256-bit bus. The BMG-G31 crystal is noticeably larger than the BMG-G21 used in the B580, B570, and Arc Pro models, which may indicate higher clock speeds and increased performance, including ray tracing.
However, the new product will enter the market with extremely tough competition. According to a Jon Peddie Research report, NVIDIA controlled 94% of the discrete GPU market in the second quarter of 2025, AMD less than 6%, and Intel has not yet managed to occupy even 1%.
Nevertheless, analysts remain cautiously optimistic. Asnoted Jefferies expert Blaine Curtis, Intel may regain competitiveness by 2026 if it continues its strategy focused on the price-performance ratio.
Earlier, industry publications alsonoted: if Intel sets a reasonable price tag, the video card may be of interest to users who do not have enough 8 GB of memory in the current budget models of AMD and NVIDIA. In modern games and at high resolutions, 16 GB is becoming increasingly in demand.
If the launch really takes place in the fall, the B770 will fall into the key holiday season - the most important period for sales. However, competition will also intensify: according to leaks, NVIDIA intends to introduce the updated Blackwell Super series before the end of the year, which will once again put Intel in direct confrontation with the market leader.
