There has been almost no news about the project for a year, but the developers have not stopped working. A fresh video has appeared online showing gameplay footage.
The game is made in a post-apocalyptic setting with elements of retrofuturism, which evokes associations with Atomfall and Fallout.
According to the authors' idea, World War II did not end and destroyed most of the countries of the world. The main character receives a task to explore an abandoned military base on the island of Nordhook. But it soon becomes clear that the territory captured by out-of-control machines is fraught with far more dangers than it seemed at first.
War Mechanic is being created on Unreal Engine 5 using Lumen lighting technology. This is a single-player game with dynamic weather, survival and crafting elements. Players will be able to build their own base and upgrade vehicles.
The script is being written by writers Jacek Komuda and Maciej Jurewicz, who previously wrote the plot for The Witcher. Komuda is also known for his work on Hellish Quart.
The release date has not yet been announced, War Mechanic will be released on PC on Steam.
