In an interview, Schofield noted that he does not seek to take someone else's intellectual property, but would be willing to make an exception:
«Imagine I get the license for "Alien". I already have about a hundred alien concepts created in Midjourney over the past two years... So yes, I would love to make an "Alien" game».
He stressed that he would only take on such a project if he could fully realize his vision. According to him, he is not able to create a really good game without 100% control, while he is ready to put in «130% effort».
The last major installment in the series was Alien: Isolation (2014), and its sequel is already in development. But, according to many fans, such a well-known franchise has enough potential to simultaneously receive Schofield's project as well.
The developer also admitted that his next job may be his last in the gaming industry, as he is considering ending his career.
