Glen Schofield, the creator of Dead Space and The Callisto Protocol, has spoken about his desire to work with the Alien franchise. Although he would prefer to create an original project, the developer does not rule out working with the license if he gets full control over the process.
In an interview, Schofield noted that he is not eager to take someone else's intellectual property, but would be willing to make an exception:
«Imagine I get the Alien license. I already have about a hundred alien concepts created in Midjourney over the past two years… So yes, I would love to make an Alien game».
He emphasized that he would only take on such a project if he could fully realize his vision. According to him, he is not able to create a really good game without 100% control, while he is ready to invest «130% effort».
The last major installment in the series was Alien: Isolation (2014), and its sequel is already in development. But, according to many fans, such a well-known franchise has enough potential to simultaneously receive Schofield's project as well.
The developer also admitted that his next job may be his last in the gaming industry, as he is considering ending his career.
