Koei Tecmo Unveils Remake of Horror Game FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly

Koei Tecmo has officially announced the remake of the horror game FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly. The game will be released in early 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC via Steam. More precise dates are unknown.

The developers promise a complete overhaul of Crimson Butterfly, with updated visual effects, sound, game systems, and controls. The key Camera Obscura mechanic remains, but now offers a deeper experience in exploration and battles. The new "Holding Hands with Mayu" mechanic adds emotional depth and is designed to help players feel the strong connection between the sisters.
