The developers of Slay the Spire 2 have taken additional time to refine the project.
Mega Crit studio has announced the postponement of Slay the Spire 2's early access to March 2026. This information appeared in the September issue of Neowsletter — a regular newsletter from the game's authors.
Initially, the early access release was planned for 2025 — this date was mentioned since the announcement of Slay the Spire 2 in April 2024. However, according to the studio, the decision to postpone was made "after lengthy internal discussions."
The specific reason is not specified, but judging by the wording, the developers need more time to complete the project. The team continues to add new characters, content, and game features, after which they intend to focus on polishing — to ensure the expected level of quality.
In the letter, Mega Crit ironically referred to the new date as a "secret Thursday in March." This limits the possible dates to March 5, 12, 19, or 26, 2026. The exact date will be announced closer to the release.
