Saber Interactive is working on Hellraiser: Revival - a single-player game based on the cult horror film by Clive Barker. And, judging by the developers' statements, they do not intend to restrain themselves: the project promises to be frankly adult, dark and cruel.

"We are ready to go as far as those who set the rules allow us," said development director Tim Willits in an interview with IGN."I hope we can release the version that we really want," he added, implying that alternative versions are possible if censorship restricts distribution in some countries.

Clive Barker himself is also involved in the project - according to Saber, the studio consulted with the author during the development of the plot.

"We are trying to convey all the blood and horror that was in the films: violence, sexuality - everything," said Deputy Director of the game Alexandra Pelivanovich in an interview with GameSpot.

"It was important for us to capture every key element of the franchise and put it into the game in the right context. When we sent Clive the final version of the script, he said: “Yes, this is Hellraiser!”"

Hellraiser: Revival was announced in July and will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Doug Bradley will once again play the role of Pinhead, and he will also voice the character. The release date has not yet been announced.
