Cillian Murphy has commented on rumors about his possible participation in the "Harry Potter" series being created by HBO. Recently, there has been active discussion online that the actor was allegedly offered the role of Lord Voldemort, the main antagonist of the entire franchise. However, Murphy himself assures that he is not involved in the project and has not heard about the casting.
"No, my kids show me that from time to time, but I don't know anything about it," he said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. The actor also added that he would not want to repeat the image created by Ralph Fiennes: "It's very difficult to follow that. He is an absolute legend of acting. So good luck to whoever takes on that role."
Meanwhile, HBO continues casting for the new adaptation, where each season will be dedicated to one book. It is already known that the roles of Harry, Ron, and Hermione will be played by Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout, and Arabella Stanton. Lox Pratt will embody Draco Malfoy, and John Lithgow will become the new Albus Dumbledore.
It is not yet known who will embody the image of Voldemort. This is one of the characters whose role has not yet been revealed.
The first season of "Harry Potter" will be released in 2027.
