Recently, Randy Pitchford spoke again about Borderlands 4. This time he decided to talk about the game's servers.
The creator is so confident in their stability that he challenged the community — he offered to crash the Borderlands 4 servers:
«...Listen, I'm telling you that it's VERY unlikely that there will be enough of you to break the backend [servers] and take our game offline. I know there have been cases where high-profile backend online systems have failed during the launch of major AAA games, but not in this case.
That's how confident I am.»
Nevertheless, IF SUDDENLY the influx of players really takes our systems down, then I will find a way to somehow reward everyone for showing me that this is possible. And you will help identify what we need to strengthen, so... everyone wins».
As an additional motivation, Randy promised to give away the Break Free set for free to players who log into Borderlands 4 this weekend.
