Borderlands 4 has continued the series' tradition with Shift codes, allowing players to receive in-game bonuses.
The Shift code system has returned in Borderlands 4, and players can already activate the first bonuses. The first code, traditionally, was hidden in the end credits after completing the game.
As before, Shift codes unlock access to chests with legendary loot. In Borderlands 4, these chests can be found in the Belton’s Bore, The Launchpad, Carcadia and The Lockaway locations. They require golden keys to open, which are most often given out via Shift codes. The number of keys is displayed in the inventory's currency section.
Currently, there are five known active codes, each giving one golden key:
- B9XT3-HX6TT-W6BBW-TTJT3-JTFKX (valid until September 16)
- 39RTT-3ZR3T-5FJBK-3J3J3-C5CRT (valid until September 16)
- WHWJB-XH3SX-39CZW-H3BBB-BTF55 (valid until September 20)
- THRBT-WW6CB-56TB5-3B3BJ-XBW3X (valid until September 30)
- 39FB3-SHWXS-RRWZK-533TB-JHJBC (valid until October 1)
How to Activate Shift Codes:
Shift codes can be activated in two ways: directly in the game, via the Rewards tab in the menu, or via the official Gearbox website:
- Go to the website: shift.gearboxsoftware.com
- Log in to your SHiFT account or create a new one
- Go to the Gaming Platforms tab and link your account to the desired platform (Steam, PSN, Xbox, etc.)
- Open the Rewards tab, enter the 25-digit code, and click Check
Additional Bonus:
If you already have a SHiFT account, you can get the Hazard Pay weapon skin. To do this:
- Log in to your profile on the SHiFT website
- Go to settings and subscribe to notifications
- Link your account to your gaming platform
- Launch Borderlands 4 under your SHiFT account and activate the skin via the menu or website
