Much of the positive image of the new EA shooter was built on its serious design, different from the Call of Duty series.
While Activision is trying its best to compete with Battlefield 6, focusing on the seriousness and groundedness of Black Ops 7 in the advertising campaign of the upcoming shooter, the technical director of the new game, Christian Bull, in an interview with IGN, states that the game will only look realistic and grounded for "some" time.
We are creating a harsh, grounded, realistic shooter. That's exactly what we want our game to be, and that's how it will look for some time.
Although designer Matthew Nickerson added in the same interview that the developers are not chasing trends, people on social networks are already wondering how long Battlefield 6 will maintain the image of a serious shooter.
As for the design, we are aware of what other products are doing, but we are really focused on what ultimately suits Battlefield. We are not chasing trends. We don't imitate other products.
