Recently, Battlefield head and EA manager Rebecca Coutaz, in an interview with Edge magazine, spoke about how BF 2042 was perceived by the developers themselves:
"They were also disappointed with Battlefield 2042. And all the studios wanted to prevent this from happening again."
However, four years later, the situation has changed. Rebecca said that "the game is in a completely different state than when we released it" and stated that "we still have a lot of players" (recently, the online presence on Steam exceeds 30 thousand players — a free battle pass with rewards for Battlefield 6 is in effect).
