The 77th Emmy Awards ceremony took place on Sunday, where Andor, a thriller in the Star Wars universe, unexpectedly won the Best Drama Series Writing award. The project's writer, Dan Gilroy, received his first award and thanked the fans for their support: "They made the story of ordinary people struggling with incredible difficulties possible."

Andor's victory was one of the main surprises of the evening. Among the favorites was the HBO series The Last of Us, nominated in several key categories. However, Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal, who played the main roles, were left without awards. In the Best Actress in a Drama Series category, Britt Lower (Severance) won, and Noah Wyle was recognized as the best actor for his role in ER.

The most titled project of the evening was ER, a medical drama from HBO Max, which received the award for Best Drama Series. Severance and The White Lotus were also among the laureates.

The Last of Us series, despite 16 nominations, did not receive any major awards. The show's only trophy at this ceremony was a win at the Creative Arts Emmy in the Outstanding Sound Editing for a Drama Series category for the second episode, "Infected."
