In its latest corporate report, Sony has removed the phrase "non-console gaming revenue."

PushSquare noted that Sony's corporate report for fiscal year 2025 has removed one of the indicators previously presented as a key element of the company's updated strategy - "non-console gaming revenue."

In the 2024 version of the document, this metric was among the "strategically emphasized indicators," along with PlayStation 5 sales, the number of active users, and the total time spent in games. The new version retains only these three items.

No official comments have been made regarding the changes in the report, but the context suggests a cooling of Sony's interest in multiplatform expansion. In 2024, releases outside the PlayStation ecosystem accounted for only about 2% of the company's gaming revenue. However, this figure may increase by the end of 2025 - considering launches such as Helldivers 2 on Xbox, as well as PC releases of The Last of Us Part II: Remastered and Spider-Man 2.

It is worth emphasizing that abandoning multiplatform revenue as a strategic metric does not mean stopping the release of PC versions and third-party releases. Most likely, it is a return to a model in which such projects are seen as auxiliary - primarily to attract attention to the PlayStation platform. The main priority remains to increase engagement within its own ecosystem.
