The creator of Ninja Gaiden 4 shared details about the setting. Abe, the level designer and lead artist of the project, announced that the events will unfold in a dark and ruined Tokyo, which has been struck by a powerful darkness.
"In the new installment, the action takes place in Tokyo, engulfed in a dark curse. Skyscrapers have been erected high into the sky, leaving a seemingly endless abyss below," he noted in a message on X.
According to the developer, the city has turned into a "chaotic and unpredictable world, full of challenges." He added: "I hope you can survive this adventure, exploring the dangerous world as Yakumo."
Those who have already tried the game describe it as "fast-paced and exciting," differing from the first two parts of the series. The combat system has become more dynamic and largely resembles PlatinumGames projects.
At the same time, the team assures that Ninja Gaiden 4 has retained the DNA of the franchise. Players can expect the adrenaline rush familiar to the series — and, probably, more than one broken gamepad.
