While Hollow Knight: Silksong vies for the title of "Game of the Year," its main competitor, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, has set a new sales record.
During ZEVENT 2025, Sandfall Interactive studio, in a conversation with streamer Antoine Daniel, announced that the turn-based role-playing game had reached 4.4 million copies sold.
The previous milestone was recorded in May — at that time, the game surpassed the 3.3 million mark in 33 days. Clair Obscur was released in April 2025 and, despite the sudden release of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, sold a million copies in just three days (Game Pass subscriber numbers were not included).
At its peak concurrent players on Steam, the project managed to surpass The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and other major releases.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
