The new comic book movie about the Fantastic Four will soon be available for home viewing.
Marvel Studios has announced that the blockbuster "Fantastic Four: First Steps" will be released in digital format on September 23. The release will include several deleted scenes, as well as documentary materials about the making of the film.
The film premiered on July 24, 2025. During its theatrical run, the film grossed over $518 million worldwide. Against the backdrop of the studio's previous failures, "First Steps" became one of the most successful releases in recent years, both in terms of box office revenue and audience response. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the critics' approval rating was 87%, and the audience "popcorn meter" was 91%.
The film introduced an updated lineup of the Fantastic Four: Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm). The main antagonist was Galactus, played by Ralph Ineson, with Julia Garner as his herald, the Silver Surfer.
"First Steps" opens the sixth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is expected that at least some of the characters will appear in the film "Avengers: Judgment Day," which is scheduled for release in December 2026.
