Next spring, viewers will return to the Mushroom Kingdom with a new animated film based on Super Mario Galaxy.
Nintendo is preparing a new animated film based on the Mario universe. This time, it's a film based on Super Mario Galaxy. According to The Direct, the Cinepolis El Salvador cinema chain published a brief synopsis of the project as part of the promotion for the first trailer. The description stated: "New threats, old rivalries, and a battle that reaches the stars. Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi team up against Wario and Bowser Jr."
The authenticity of this information remains in question. However, a spotted egg appeared in the post-credits scene of "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," hinting at Yoshi. In addition, Wario and Bowser Jr. have already been named among the most likely antagonists of the sequel.
For now, we have to wait for official confirmation from Nintendo. The premiere of Super Mario Galaxy Movie is scheduled for April 3, 2026.
