Although the Xbox ROG Ally and Xbox ROG Ally X are not yet on sale, handheld PC fans can already test the main feature of these devices — the new full-screen mode.
The announcement of the new models has become one of the most anticipated events for handheld PC enthusiasts. The main difference from the original ASUS ROG Ally and ROG Ally X is the special Xbox shell, which optimizes Windows for the format of portable devices. But it turned out that it is not necessary to wait for the release of consoles for this.
A video appeared online where an enthusiast tested the innovation on a regular ROG Ally. Thanks to the latest update of Windows 11 version 25H2, the function is also available to other mini-PC owners. It is enough to install it through the Release Preview program.
The functionality of the shell was personally confirmed by journalist Tom Warren from The Verge, who shared the test on X.
For those who want to try the function on their own, a detailed guide is available in a special thread on Reddit at the link.
