Despite the fact that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Remake has not yet been officially announced, heated discussions have already flared up around the project.

According to rumors, Ubisoft plans serious changes: not only update the graphics, but also rework a number of mechanics, and some elements of the original are intended to be removed.

Fans are especially outraged by the possible absence of modern plot segments. In the original, players regularly left the Animus to explore the secrets of Abstergo and connect Edward Kenway's story with the main line of the series. The remake is supposed to add new events from the pirate era, including the previously cut story of Mary Read, but for many this is not enough.

On forums and social networks, players criticize the innovations, believing that without modern episodes, Black Flag will lose a unique element of the series that connects the entire story. “Without these fragments, the game turns into a The Witcher 3 clone with stealth elements,” users write.

Fans note that modern scenes were important for understanding many storylines. Without them, the ending may lose its meaning, and the remake will simply become a story about pirates without context for the entire universe.

Ubisoft has not yet officially confirmed the existence of the remake, although leaks have been ongoing for several months, including information from Edward Kenway's voice actor and companies creating merchandise. The estimated release date is 2026, but already now disputes about innovations overshadow the project's marketing.
