The creators of the Death Stranding adaptation are in no hurry to share details, but say that the work is moving in the right direction.
A film based on Hideo Kojima's game Death Stranding was announced back in 2022, but little information about the project has appeared.
In an interview with Screen Rant, producer Allan Ungar said that the film is in an active stage of development and is moving in a "very positive direction." He did not disclose details, noting only that he cannot voice them yet. As Screen Rant explains, "active production" usually refers to work on the script, pre-production, and casting decisions.
The production is handled by A24, known for its unconventional genre films. Michael Sarnoski ("Pig", "A Quiet Place: Day One") has been appointed as the director, and Aaron Guzikowski ("Raised by Wolves") is writing the script. Hideo Kojima himself exercises creative control over the project.
It is not yet known whether the cast of the original game will return to their roles. The studio has not announced casting and has not named the release date of the film.
