Yakuza Kiwami 3, a remake of the third part of the series, was announced at the RGG Summit 2025. The developers showed a trailer and revealed the first details.
The project is a full-fledged remake of Yakuza 3 for modern consoles and PCs. The developers have added new scenes and reworked game systems to make the story of Kazuma Kiryu and his adventures in Okinawa interesting to both fans and newcomers.
The game is being created on the Dragon Engine, the engine of the Ryu Ga Gotoku studio, which was used in Yakuza 6 and subsequent parts of the Like a Dragon series. This will provide smooth animations, detailed character models and an atmospheric recreation of Japanese streets.
In addition to the main version, a free episode Yakuza Kiwami 3: Dark Ties has been announced. This separate story will allow you to play as Yoshitaka Mine, the antagonist of Yakuza 3, and explore his first steps in the criminal world, where conspiracies, conflicts and strong ties are born.
Players will be able to choose where to start - with a remake of the classic or with a new episode. Dark Ties adds side activities, new scenarios of Mine's relationships with other characters, including Kanda, which expands the universe of the series and allows you to look at the events of Yakuza 3 from a different perspective.
The game will be released on February 12, 2026 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. A translation into Russian is promised.
