Riot Games has confirmed that the new free-to-play fighting game 2XKO with League of Legends heroes will be released in early access on October 7, 2025, on PC. This was announced by Executive Producer Tom Cannon in a recent developer update, where they announced the end of the closed beta.
Cannon noted that the testing allowed them to fine-tune the server infrastructure, matchmaking, and stability. Now that the systems are working reliably, the studio is ready to launch the first full version. Early access will include new features: Combo Trials, seasonal progression, and a content structure that will remain until release. Importantly, there will be no more resets from October 7, 2025 — all earned progress and items will remain.
The 2XKO distribution model will be seasonal. Five seasons are planned throughout the year, and each will add a new champion and additional content. The first season starts with the launch of early access and expands the roster to ten fighters. Players can also expect cosmetics, battle pass rewards, and regular balance adjustments.
Riot is paying attention to the community. Developer Sean Rivera noted the activity of fans during the closed beta and introduced the First Impact program. In 2025, the company will support 22 esports events, adding prizes and special awards for the duo format.
The fighting game combines the mechanics of the genre with the heroes of League of Legends and is preparing for a full release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows in 2025.
