Frictional Games released an update for SOMA in honor of the horror's tenth anniversary, and it seems to hide a teaser for the studio's next project.
Content creator CheeseYeen noticed changes in the opening scene: a new spam filter appeared on the main character Simon's computer. There, a strange email was found with glitches and encrypted text, which leads to the website hotelsamsara.com. It advertises a "luxury hotel" promising to reveal "the stars and what lies beyond," hinting at themes of life, death, and rebirth—the concept of samsara.
After subscribing to the newsletter, a confirmation comes from Kepler Interactive, the publisher of Sifu and Pacific Drive. This indicates a partnership between the studios. The ARG also mentions a mysterious character named Felix, associated with luck, risk, and karma.
CheeseYeen suggests that the new game will be a horror with roguelike elements. As in Amnesia: The Bunker, players will die and start over, retaining some progress and karmic actions. The ultimate goal is to break free from the cycle of samsara and achieve "narrative nirvana."
Although there has been no official announcement yet, the discovery confirms that Frictional Games is preparing a new project.
