During the global online event JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure in Tokyo, david production studio and Warner Bros. Anime shared details about the adaptation of the seventh part of Hirohiko Araki's manga — Steel Ball Run. Viewers were shown the first teaser, the cast was introduced, and it was announced that the anime will premiere in 2026 exclusively on Netflix.
The main character Johnny Joestar, a former jockey who finds himself in the middle of a crazy race across the American continent, will be voiced by Shogo Sakata (Aki in "Chainsaw Man"). His partner and mentor Gyro Zeppeli will be played by Yohei Azakami. Kaito Ishikawa will appear as the charismatic antagonist Diego Brando, and Rie Takahashi (Lucy Steel) and Kenta Miyake (Steven Steel) have also joined the cast.
Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi, who previously worked on "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Part 5: Golden Wind", will direct Steel Ball Run. Among the permanent members of the project are director Toshiyuki Kato, screenwriter Yasuko Kobayashi, composer Yoshikazu Iwanami and, of course, david production studio.
