The fourth solo Spider-Man film with Tom Holland, despite its ordinal number, will be the beginning of a new chapter in the character's history.
In a recent interview with Complex, Tom Holland stated that the upcoming film "Spider-Man: A Brand New Day" should not be perceived as a direct continuation of the previous installments. Despite the fact that it is formally the fourth solo film of the actor in the role of Peter Parker within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Holland himself calls the film a "rebirth" of the franchise and a new start for both the hero and the entire story.
"It feels like we're making not the fourth movie, but the first movie in the next chapter... It's a completely new day for Spider-Man. It's a rebirth. It's something completely new," the actor noted in the interview.
According to him, filming under the direction of Destin Daniel Cretton is different from anything he has done before in the image of Spider-Man.
The premiere of "Spider-Man: A Brand New Day" is scheduled for July 31, 2026. Despite the temporary suspension of filming due to Holland suffering a concussion at the end of last week while performing a stunt without a stunt double, work on the set will resume on September 29. According to Marvel and Sony, this will not affect the schedule — the release date remains the same.
