At the PlayStation State of Play presentation, among the major announcements was a strange game from DeskWorks Inc. and Shueisha Games — Chronoscript: The Endless End. The authors are known for RPG Time: The Legend of Wright.
The project transports the player to an unusual world where an editor finds himself trapped inside the manuscript of an endless story. His goal is to find the path to the final chapter, created by a writer who lived for a thousand years. This forms an original combination of literature and action, in which every word plays a key role.
The gameplay is based on two dimensions: exploration in 3D inside an abandoned mansion filled with manuscripts, and an adventure in 2D through illustrated worlds on the pages. Players will have to go through thousands of pages, fight enemies carrying grudges from past lives, and gradually reveal the connection between the editor and the mysterious author.
The studio promises an unusual atmosphere, a recognizable visual style, and a rich adventure where exploration is combined with battles.
Chronoscript: The Endless End is scheduled for release in 2026 for PS5 and PC.
