Gran Turismo remains one of the main series in PlayStation history, and the success of the seventh installment proved that Polyphony Digital studio is back in great shape.
After the main competitor, Forza Motorsport, stopped its development, it seemed that the creators could relax. But the team is not going to stop and is preparing a large-scale update, which will be released in December 2025.
The Spec III update will be the largest in the history of Gran Turismo 7. It will include eight new cars, two track complexes, and additional improvements that are still kept secret. The developers call this patch the largest in the entire history of the game.
But the news does not end there. Studio head Kazunori Yamauchi announced another important detail: by June 25, 2025, total sales of the Gran Turismo series exceeded 100 million copies. This once again confirms the brand's status as a key one in the Sony lineup.
