Gran Turismo remains one of the main series in PlayStation history, and the success of the seventh installment proved that Polyphony Digital is back in great shape.
After its main competitor, Forza Motorsport, ceased development, it seemed the creators could relax. But the team is not going to stop and is preparing a large-scale update, which will be released in December 2025.
The Spec III update will be the largest in Gran Turismo 7 history. It will include eight new cars, two track complexes, and additional improvements that are currently being kept secret. The developers are calling this patch the largest in the game's history.
But the news doesn't end there. Studio head Kazunori Yamauchi shared another important detail: by June 25, 2025, cumulative sales of the Gran Turismo series exceeded 100 million copies. This once again confirms the brand's status as a key one in Sony's lineup.
