Metal Gear Solid fans can relax — producer Noriaki Okamura has confirmed that work is underway on Master Collection Volume 2. This gives real hope that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be released outside the PlayStation 3 ecosystem.
Although there haven't been any specifics for a long time, Okamura noted at the Tokyo Game Show 2025 that the collection is being developed in parallel with the remake of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
"The work has been going on for quite a long time, but the collection is being created, and we want to show progress as soon as possible. We ask for a little more patience," the producer said.
Since the release of Master Collection Vol. 1, speculation about the contents of the second volume has not subsided. The main expectation remains the port of MGS4, created exclusively for the PS3, which for a long time remained a serious technical obstacle to porting.
Konami assures that the project is in safe hands, and will soon reveal additional details.
