Nintendo has announced that Nintendo of America President and COO Doug Bowser will be retiring on December 31, 2025, after more than ten years in various leadership positions.
He will be succeeded by Devon Pritchard, a gaming industry veteran with 19 years of experience and a long-time member of Nintendo of America's leadership team. Pritchard will also join the company's board of directors and become an executive officer at Nintendo Co. Additionally, Nintendo Co. Managing Executive Officer and Board Member Satoru Shibata will assume the role of Chairman of Nintendo of America, while retaining his current roles.
I am humbled and excited to take on this new role. Doug has been a fantastic mentor, and I am looking forward to building on the incredible foundation he has created. My goal is to continue to strengthen Nintendo’s legacy of bringing smiles to faces and introduce even more players to the joy of Nintendo.
