For quite some time, there have been rumors that Anbernic is developing a new handheld clamshell console with two screens. Today, an interesting teaser trailer appeared online, in which such a device was spotted.
Perhaps Anbernic deliberately leaked this video to stir up gamers' interest, or the video was created by a neural network (and this “teaser” is just a fake from some user).
The new console, dubbed Anbernic RG DS by Retro Handhelds, looks visually similar to the Nintendo DS Lite/DSi. It has two joysticks located under the D-pad and A/B/X/Y buttons, displays of the same size, two speakers, L1/L2/R1/R2 triggers, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Among other things, people found a photo of this new console, but the image features the Google Gemini sign, so the picture may be fake and generated by artificial intelligence.
It is not yet known what operating system the Anbernic RG DS uses, what the device's specifications are, how much it will cost, and when the release is expected.
