An attempt to promote Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 through events in third-party services is causing negative reactions from some players.
Recently, the developers of Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine presented a September news summary. Soon, some members of the Steam community began to actively resent it.
The fact is that Saber Interactive announced a new promotion — this time on Discord (violates the requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation).
In October, a Discord Quest will be held: for 15 minutes of playing the demo / full version of Space Marine 2, the developers have provided a reward; they presented a stylish look for the weapon. In addition, a "community event" will be held next month — you will need to eliminate 500 thousand certain enemies in order to get a helmet as a reward.
This format of FOMO events, using the "fear of missing out" effect, is not liked by members of the gaming community. Previously, they had already criticized when they organized a Twitch Drops campaign with gifts for watching streams.
As in previous times, not only comments are used to express dissatisfaction. Another Steam community technique is being used — the developers' announcement of the event in Space Marine 2 was given several "clown medals" (the award is called "jester", but in the Steam community it is actively used as an insult).
