Thanks to a new video from AYN Thor developers, people were able to find out how the portable console is doing with brightness and volume control, whether an independent hertz setting is available for the two displays, and how to adjust the joystick backlighting.
AYN has posted a new video online dedicated to the Thor portable clamshell console with two AMOLED screens. This time, the developers decided to introduce people to the built-in software.
Judging by the video, this device has an independent hertz setting for the displays, so one screen can be easily set to 120 Hz, and the second to 60 Hz.
For each screen, you can separately adjust the brightness and volume using the software. You can change the fan speed, choose the interface style, joystick backlight option, and more.
The Lite version of AYN Thor features a Snapdragon 865 chip with an Adreno 650@587 MHz graphics processor, 8 GB of LPDDR4x@2133 MHz RAM, and 128 GB of UFS3.1 internal memory. The Base, Pro, and Max versions feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip with an Adreno 740@680 MHz graphics processor, LPDDR5x@4200 MHz RAM at 8 GB / 12 GB / 16 GB, and UFS4.0 internal memory at 128 GB / 256 GB / 1 TB.
Upper screen specifications: 6-inch, resolution – 1080x1920, refresh rate – 120 Hz, brightness – 650 nits, contrast ratio – 100000:1, color gamut – 152% sRGB. Lower screen: 3.92 inches, resolution – 1080x1240, refresh rate – 60 Hz, brightness – 550 nits, contrast ratio – 100000:1, color gamut – 150% sRGB.
Thanks to the discount, the AYN Thor with 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal memory, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip can now be purchased for $249 (20,742 rubles), and with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and 8 GB + 128 GB for $299 (24,908 rubles).
