Activision has carefully and quietly decided to release an update for Prototype, released 16 years ago, and its sequel. The joy of the players was short-lived, because the 600-megabyte patches broke modifications like PrototypeFix, whose author had to urgently release a new version.
Driven by curiosity, modders and data miners decided to study the updates, and found in the credits a mention of Ubisoft Connect, Iron Galaxy Studios, as well as specialists from Demonware and Beenox, studios working on support for Activision.
It is important to note that there are no Prototype versions for Ubisoft Connect, and Iron Galaxy specializes in remasters, and its portfolio already includes games such as Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 and Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
