After the success of Silent Hill f, series producer Motoi Okamoto shared plans for the future. The game sold over 1 million copies in a day, becoming Konami's fastest-selling psychological horror project. Critics rated it on par with the Silent Hill 2 remake.
In an interview at TGS 2025, Okamoto noted that he expected more controversial reactions due to the complex elements of the game, but the public accepted it much better than he anticipated.
"This does not mean that future Silent Hill games will repeat Silent Hill f. Each installment will have its own style. We want to continue experimenting in game design and storytelling."
Later on X, Okamoto clarified that he intends to take a bold approach to the series, offering different gaming experiences, but traditions, especially a high-quality plot, will be respected.
"Psychological stories remain key to what makes Silent Hill 'Silent Hill'."
Despite the new location and gameplay system, Silent Hill f maintains a connection with the series through psychological horror.
"The main character's spiritual journey and her confrontation with internal traumas are what make the game truly Silent Hill," the producer noted. It seems that future games will look for new approaches to gameplay but will retain the foundation.
