Atsu became a "dream come true" for performer Erika Ishii. In an interview, she said that being chosen as the new main face of Ghost "was a significant event."
According to her, "I have always been a big fan of Sony games, and being on their set is like a dream come true."
The actress admitted that at first replacing Jin "was scary," but "the brain adapts quickly," and soon she was joking with the team and felt at home.
Atsu's peculiarity is that it is a character created from scratch: "I have never played a heroine who has my face and manners, including movements and speech."
Inspiration for the role came from "Kurosawa films and jidaigeki," "Kill Bill," the anime "Samurai Champloo," the works of Toshiro Mifune, and Clint Eastwood's "Man with No Name."
