Game developers will not be able to integrate certain services into their projects.
Sony plans to begin gradually phasing out support for some legacy services for PlayStation 4 in the spring of 2026.
Documentation sent to Insider Gaming indicates that starting in the spring of 2026, new games submitted to PlayStation 4 will not be able to integrate with a number of legacy PSN features. In particular, the following services will be disabled:
- Activity Feed (Web API)
- Game Small Storage (TSS)
- User Storage (TUS)
- Profile and User Services
- Word Filters
- Shared Media (Web API)
