Despite the years that have passed, Remedy continues to support Control and is preparing a free update for modern platforms.
The studio is busy with many projects, but continues to support one of its latest games. Several months ago, the developers released a major patch for Control: Ultimate Edition, which included a new mission featuring Hideo Kojima, previously only available to Digital Deluxe owners on PS4. Additionally, the update added HDR support, improved ray tracing settings, and support for ultrawide monitors.
Until now, these improvements have only been available on PC, and the console release has been delayed. Now Remedy has confirmed that the wait will not be long. The update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will be available on October 6, 2025, next Monday.
The developers announced the date in an official message and promised that a full list of changes will appear on the day of the patch release.
