Nintendo has officially dispelled rumors that it is allegedly lobbying against generative artificial intelligence.
Contrary to recent discussions on the Internet, Nintendo has not had any contact with the Japanese government regarding generative AI.
The company stressed that it will continue to take the necessary measures against intellectual property rights infringements, regardless of whether generative AI is involved.
The rumors arose after a statement by a Japanese politician who claimed that Nintendo was allegedly cooperating with the country's authorities to limit or completely prohibit the use of generative AI in order to protect its intellectual property rights. However, shortly after publication, the politician deleted the original post and apologized in a new message, admitting that it contained misinformation.
