It seems Bloober Team is preparing for the next stage of the Silent Hill 2 Remake release — an update to the game's official website hinted at the appearance of two unannounced platforms. The page now has two empty slots, which are visible in the source code and located next to the already announced versions for PlayStation 5 and PC.
Checking the website's HTML code confirmed that the elements exist. Their addition indicates an expansion of the platform list after the exclusivity period ends in October. The most likely candidates are Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
Rumors of an expansion have been circulating for several months. In September, insider Dusk Golem reported that the studio is preparing an update for PS5 Pro and is working on new DLC that could bring back the Born From a Wish storyline.
The Born From a Wish episode first appeared in special editions of the 2001 original and told the story of Maria — one of the key characters. It revealed her inner experiences and her acquaintance with Ernest Baldwin in an abandoned mansion, adding new details to the themes of guilt and loss.
Insider NateTheHate previously claimed that announcements of other versions are impossible until the exclusivity contract with Sony expires: "The announcement can only be made after the deal ends in October," he noted.
The Silent Hill 2 remake was released on October 8, 2024.
