Since 2005, almost 6,000 adult games have been added to Steam as of September 2025. The data came from a Reddit post that tracked published products — with only one adult project on the platform in 2010.
Considering that October has already begun, the list is slightly outdated. It is not entirely clear how the games were counted, but the authors of the study are responsible for the accuracy of the calculation. Despite criticism due to the mass of low-grade, provocative, and AI-generated games on Steam, where the rules are softer, the number may seem smaller than expected.
Other platforms also do not do without "adult" content. For example, eShop accepted provocative One Piece titles like Pirate Anime Quest: One Boys' Journey and visual novels that include "provocative questions" and "bold images" of One Piece-style characters created by AI.
