Aliens: Fireteam Elite was released in 2021 on PC and consoles, was successful and, it seems, deserved a sequel. Although there has been no official announcement yet, the ESRB — the American organization for assigning age ratings — has confirmed the existence of Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2.
At the time of writing, the game's page on the ESRB website is no longer available, but information about the game with a rating of 17+ has been preserved. It is known that Daybreak Game Company is responsible for the development, and the release is planned only for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, without support for older consoles.
According to the leak, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will offer:
- a story campaign for single player and co-op, as well as "Annihilation" and "Horde" modes;
- control of members of the Xenomorph hunter squad from DAGGER Company, each with unique skills and weapons;
- pre-installed characters with unique names, personalities and fighting styles;
- "evolution" of enemy artificial intelligence;
- no microtransactions or loot boxes, but DLC with maps and missions is possible in the future.
If there is already a rating on the ESRB, we can expect an official announcement of the sequel soon.
