HBO released the first trailer for the series "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" — a spin-off of "Game of Thrones" and "House of the Dragon"
HBO continues to develop the universe of George Martin. The next will be a series based on the stories about Dunk and Egg.
HBO has presented the first trailer for the series "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight". The events of the show take place between "House of the Dragon" and "Game of Thrones" — a hundred years before the latter.
As in the original novellas by George Martin, the story focuses on Ser Duncan the Tall — a young knight of humble origin — and his squire, Prince Aegon Targaryen. Traveling through Westeros under the names Dunk and Egg, they witness key events of the era. The first season will tell about their participation in the tournament in Ashford.
The main roles are played by Peter Claffey (Duncan) and Dexter Sol Ansell (Egg). The directors of the season are Owen Harris ("Black Mirror") and Sarah Adina Smith ("Lessons in Chemistry") — for both, this is their first experience working in Martin's universe. Harris also joined the producers, and the script was prepared by Ira and Martin Parker, who previously participated in the creation of "House of the Dragon."
The premiere of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" is scheduled for January 18, 2026. The series will be released on HBO and on the Max streaming service.
